Somebody close the loop on the 7, ok?

Exactly 2 years from today - if (and it IS a HUGE "IF") George Walker Bush voluntarily relinquishes the office of the Presidency, the right of occupancy of which he so brazenly stole, someone else, ANYONE else, will be sworn in.

Only 2 more years of this nightmare, until the Pretender to the Presidency is gone. I wish, in a way, that I could Rip Van Winkle for 2 years - but at the same time, I know that only CONSTANT VIGILANCE - as Prof. Moody says - can protect us during the rest of this fiasco. Wouldn't it be nice, though, if we could fast forward to President Obama's swearing-in ceremony?

So I look at a few Religious Wrong websites and see where the Neocon tin-foil-hatters are unable to come up with anything coherent and meaningful to sling at Senator Obama, so they've resorted to schoolyard bully techniques - making fun of his name.
"Barak? What kid of name is that ? And HUSSEIN - he MUST be a terrorist - Obama, Osama... Coincidence?"

This tells me EVERTHING I need to know about Senator Obama's qualifications to be President of the United States. If the paleocons can't come up with anything better than THAT - it is abundantly evident that he is excellently qualified to hold the highest office in the executive branch of government in this country.

Yup, just hold him down as much as possible cuz I don't think they can get him impeached.

No cooties either.

Umm, hey, I have three scooters, one is electric. It's kewl.

Obama failed to mention in both of his biographies that he spent 4 years in a madrassus. Which are terrorist indoctrination schools funded by wealthy islamic extremists. It's odd how he would fail to mention that.

If the only choices are the obama the islamic sleeper cell and hillary It looks like we are getting another republican.

I vote independent BTW

He did? That may be a big help to him as he must pretty much knows how they think.

I'll make up my mind about the front runners later. Then write in my own name. LOL

Kvatch .... Got me pal. But even if he did, I would see it as a bonus for a preznut to know how they think.

I don't always trust the mainstream media but it seems that if he was in one that it would be talked about.

Hammer means well, but anyone can believe things that are not quite so. It takes me a hell of a lot of bullshit filtering to sort things out. And even at that I sometimes have to waffle or change my mind..

If I couldn't waffle I would be like that frigging Bush.

I would like to think that it takes more to be qualified for the highest office in the land than simply that a group I don't like is against him. After all, even a broken clock is right twice a day. It is becoming increasingly common to select one's preferred candidate by negatives, but I'd still rather find positives I can really believe in. I guess I'll keep listening to various sources until I find my positives.

While I do agree with you, Watcher, I also have to say that what my opponents say and believe makes a profound impact on my own thoughts and beliefs. For instance, if my brother, St. Paul the Lutheran Minister, were to suddenly endorse the candidacy of Senator Obama, then I'd seriously have to go and re-examine my own thoughts on the man, as obviously I had missed some heinous fault.

I mean, if SPTLM approves of something, that AUTOMATICALLY sends up a red-flag to me that it's unfailingly BAD.

As for Hammer's comments about the Senator - I'll give those ALL the consideration to which I think they are entitled.
