Word of the day: "Pretexting"

Oh my, my - bad bad Hewlett Packard.

Seems their board of directors decided to do some impersonating of folks to get information on who was "leaking" information to the press.

It amazes me, however, that the media has had to "invent" a new word for this practice. Seems we already have enough words -

Fraud
Identity Theft
Misrepresentation
Lying

What is really sad is that only 11 states have laws against what I shall call "FIML". Apparently the federal government has passed a weak and gimpy bill to combat this, but considering the Shrub's administration and it's love for lies, misrepresentation, fraud, secrecy, intrigue, cloak & dagger James Bond antics, is it any surprise that the bill has no real "guts"?
