Testing 1, 2, 3...

Bleah. After work today I have to stop at the clinic and get some "pre-procedure testing" done. Chest X-Ray, blood test, EKG

Bah.

Like I need to be bombarded by any more radiation, TYVM. And we already know my heartbeat is wonky, and you've GOT a printout of that. This not to mention the fact that I am one of the world's most DIFFICULT blood draws. My veins move, wiggle, disappear into muscles, roll, bounce - do anything at all to avoid being poked by a needle. Not to say I blame them, actually.

The thing that is the biggest PITA is that this really isn't all that necessary. It's a simple "lumpectomy" - excision of a neck lipoma, according to the surgeon. All this fol-de-rol is CYA for the hospital. Fucking bastards.

My daughter has that same vein problem and it is totally frustrating to anyone who tries to get blood. My veins jump out to the needle like that is the thing they've been wanting all day. Tell your lump, Bye, Bye!

I had the privilege of spending two hours at the orthopaedist yesterday. DDD. Looks like no slice and dice neccesary, for now anyway. I do an MRI on Monday.

Hon...

You know that I see things from an other angle.

And you know that I'm going to tell you the truth.

And the reason for all that is.....

They don't want you to die, or for something to fuck up on their shift.

They are not worried about your ass hon. They are worried about their ass.

Welcome to medical care in America, land of the lawsuits.

Hugs.

My veins do much the same thing. It takes nurses several attempts to find one, and I hate needles so that's always fun.

Hope it wasn't too crap.

Since the hospital has the technology and the charges to use it are high, why not test everyone that walks through the door? Kind of like going to the garage to buy a battery and they put new tires on too.
