No, I didn't die yet. I've been on a road trip. And a Dad Checkup. Drove down to Florida last weekend, and I'll be driving back starting today. I don't like Florida well enough to live here. It's too hot and humid and although the gecko's are cute, I really don't want to find one on my computer monidtor one morning like Dad has.
It seems hard to convince him that I like spending my vacation time with HIM - not with the mouse or at Busch gardens or anything. It's quiet and peaceful where he lives, he has a grapefruit tree that SOME DAY I will be down here when the grapefruits are ripe - but it is all quiet and serene.
I'll write more later - I need to find my hairbrush which seems to have decided it wants to stay in Florida - it is hiding.
451 days, I think...
Aww Sewmouse, that's great you had a good time! And that's great you want to spend time with your dad. Even if it's to scare away the geckos! ;-) Glad you had a good trip, that's good to hear.
ReplyDeleteThere are too many bugs down there. Be careful out there, have a safe return trip.
ReplyDeleteGecko's are cute - until you open the door to let a cat in from the porch - and find one hanging out of her mouth!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried to catch one of those things in the house? We had to wait for the poor thing to starve to death, then look for the stink...(:
BBC is right. They have cockroaches the size of small sanitation trucks down there and they fly. They call them Palmetto bugs but I've seen the nasty things and they are roaches. Huge, fugly, flying roaches. Not to mention ants, spiders, and a bazillion other types of bugs and all of them love more than anything else to crawl on you when you are in bed.

The worst kind of bug - Canadian tourists wearing goofy T-shirts.
ReplyDeleteThe shirts I can deal with. It's those god-awful white hairless legs sticking out of their shorts and the socks with sandals that drive me to drink. Which, come to think of it, isn't the worst idea I've had today.
