Emminent Domain

Unlike everyone else today, I'm not going to talk about the truly heinous decision by George Walker Bush to send 20,000 more American Servicemen and women to die in Iraq.

No, I'm going to discuss emminent domain. This is an issue that is worrisome to many, as it has been legislated recently that government is allowed to take away your property (at what IT decides is a "fair price") in order for some corporate entity to expand their holdings.

And this makes me wonder, just exactly how much free land space is available surrounding Arlington National Cemetary? Do you think there is enough land available there for another 20,000+ graves? Or do you think that maybe they'll have to use "emminent domain" and throw a lot of people out of their homes and businesses in order to secure sufficient space to plant all these servicemen once George Walker Bush murders them?

  1. God, that's just a kick in the gut...every time I visit and see how many days are left to endure.

Hey, don't get me started on eminent domain, you know how I get. :-)

But, good point, I however think that the whole of mankind needs to take up cremation so that the land needed to store bones isn't needed anymore.

Buried Native American remains stopped a large money making project here. I don't mind that the project was stopped, I don't want this area to grow more. Just saying is all.

But it's going to be hard to find a way to make that property useful in the future.

I say give it back to the natives with a free and clear title because I think they can make the best use of it.

They will honor the remains while figuring out a way to make some money with it, that will benefit everyone.

My property is zoned commercial and it's close to the highway. I hope that no one wants it before I'm done with it, and I won't be done with it until I die.

If they want it before then they will have to remove my dead body from it after they shoot me for refusing to leave.

  4. Maybe da shrub can donate some of that Texas land that he's spent so many vacation weeks "clearing" when he hasn't been out "prez'denting" somewhere. . .
